There should be more than enough material in a bible to build a basic shelter. The exact amount depends on the edition, but if you assume that it’s a full sized bible, with both Old and New Testaments there is going to be several thousand square feet of paper to use. Assuming that the book is 5″ by 8″ and is 1,000 pages long, you have 3,333 square feet of paper to work with. The paper though is very thin, so you’re going to have to layer it.
