Hi Sam, Becky, etc. Just thought I’d chime in on Muslim prayer in America since for once I might have more insight into it than you do. I had a friend in middle school who was Muslim. She didn’t get any extra breaks during the school day to go pray, and she certainly didn’t plop a mat down in the middle of class. She said she scheduled her prayers so they didn’t interfere with her studies, and that this was pretty common for Muslims in school in the West.
