Is there any way you guys can use the original embed codes? I can’t view the episodes on your website, for the last two episodes, and I refuse to use IE. I can go to YouTube and search for them, I guess, but I like your website. It’s good to get everything in one place.
What browser do you use, Joseph? I’ve never had any problem watching embedded videos on Firefox.
Firefox. I just get a little line that says “[youtube 96uey8qq_IE]“. I even disabled my script blocker. No go.
Okay, this is kind of @#$%^& up. I see the video in my previous comment, where I pasted the tag, but I don’t see it at the top, above the comments. What the hell? Heh. What is going on with my browser?
And now they all work just fine. Did Firefox fix this original problem with an update, and my update schedule was behind, for some reason?
Sort of. We changed the way we did embedding to get Flash to play nice with z-index attributes. It was broken most notably in Chrome, but in some cases Firefox picked it up.
Professionally, I avoid flash like it is filled with rats and on fire, so that was sort of a learning-while-doing scenario.
Next up is fixing comments so they are less ridiculous, and perhaps some other ways to enhance interaction on the site.
I dunno, man. No matter how you change the site code, you’ll still get the same ridiculous comments.
Oh, and I forgot to add, I had been having the same problem with YouTube videos posted with the new embed format, on Atheist Nexus. I’m not sure whether any of that has been corrected. I’ll have to flip back through the older comment entries and message threads where I had noticed it.
Anyway, good to have the videos all working properly from the site again. I had fallen a little behind in watching, due to work and my comedy project outside of work. Catching back up, now. On S3E11, as I write this.
