Another reason that Bangladesh refuses to connect the murders is for internal political needs. Since the bloggers are actually breaking their blasphemy laws recognizing them would put the government in a bind. If the government did admit secular bloggers were being attacked, it would then have to explain why the blogger aren’t being prosecuted and charged with a crime. Which means they would then endure protests of suppressing free speech by the Western world.
