FYI, a cubit is the length from one’s elbow to the tip of their middle finger. It varies, of course, from person to person, but it’s useful when measurements don’t need to be too precise. I used to use them in blacksmithing quite a bit, along with handspans and finger widths.
A Cubit is about 18 inches.
