Ask an Atheist with Sam Mulvey

Meatspace Post-Shows Postponed, Interwebzone Post-Shows in The Future

Hey everyone.   We just sent the following to our Meetup, which shouldn’t be that surprising given what’s happening out here in WA:

Dear Humanists,

We’ve decided to cancel in-person meetups at least through April 25. To make things easier for everyone we’ve decided to follow the lead of public schools in Washington state. If the closures go beyond June 19th, the nominal end of the school year, check here for a further decision about scheduling.

For a lot of us weekly meetups provide a touchpoint of important and uplifting social interaction. To that end, Sam is working on possibilities for online meetup interaction during our normal Sunday post-show time. Stay tuned for more emails/messages about next steps. In the meantime, message us here, find us on facebook at Humanists of Washington or Ask An Atheist, or on twitter @AskAnAtheistWA.

Finally, we are grateful to those in our community who are stepping up to advocate and help those impacted by the virus, closures, cancellations, and more–it’s truly Humanism in action.

Space Love,

Becky Friedman, Sam Mulvey, & Justin Holt

P.S.: Some of our regulars and organizers qualify as “high risk” according to medical professionals, so we’re being careful. Second guessing won’t help, so don’t.
P.P.S.: …an abundance of caution. BINGO!
