Sam puts on his tinfoil hat while Wes and Meredith stand agast discussing politics, neologisms, anti-medicine churches, and religious bigotry.

Sam and Dave spend some time talking sports, cars, and videogames, but also manage to be erudite and reflective about dogmatic government. Becky is incensed by kids being harmed. All three remark at nature raging against the machine.

Sam and Wes ask Luke about how he explained a religious funeral to his 8 year-old son.  They also discuss the late Harlan Ellison, a Japanese doomsday cult, Pruitt’s resignation, the futility of anti-bullet charm necklaces, fish, and trucks.

Becky and Meredith discuss participating as Humanists in immigration protests and migrant solidarity events; with Josh, they pick apart racist/antisemitic candidates, “accidental” racist/antisemitic retweets, and being distracted by beauty on airplanes.

Sam’s back from a week at Camp Quest Northwest and is excited to talk to Tom and Meredith about everything he missed! Turns out, not much has changed. Jesus is still everywhere and Trump still has the Best Words.
